We recommend a visit to the Doñana National Park; an enormous protected natural area that is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna of internationally-recognised importance. National Park, Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, this region is formed by several different ecosystems, which include the amazing Guadalquivir marshes. Located for the most part within the province of Huelva, the Doñana Nature Reserve is also an area of considerable cultural importance, with the El Rocío pilgrimage being perhaps its most well-known symbol of identity.

The Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche are located at the extreme west of the Sierra Morena, in the north of the province of Huelva. During the Middle Ages, they were the stage for border confrontations with neighbouring Portugal. The historical legacy of that conflictive period can be seen in the numerous fortifications that comprise the so-called "Banda Gallega".

This is an excellent option for discovering the historical and cultural heritage of the towns and villages in the Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. The area can be visited at any time of the year. The towns within this area are: Aroche, Cortegana, Almonaster la Real, Encinasola, Cumbres de San Bartolomé, Cumbres Mayores, Cala, and Santa. A stimulating experience for all the senses.

The gastronomy of Huelva lovingly practices the culinary arts in reflection of its history and geography, offering up delicious dishes that will surprise even the most demanding gourmets. Fish and shellfish are the unquestionable stars of cuisine in Huelva. Of such exceptional quality, there are even some who claim their characteristics are so distinctive that they can be told apart from others from neighbouring regions.

The world of golf has spread through Huelva with extraordinary speed. Beside the sea and interspersed among the natural areas that line the coast can be found the Golf Courses of Isla Canela, Islantilla, and Nuevo Portil. From the most stalwart traditions to the most modern avant-gardism, Huelva now offers the first ecological golf course on the beach of Matalascañas, next to the Doñana National Park. Taking extreme care over the environment, the golf course includes four lakes that provide breeding grounds for a variety of sea birds. Just one of them alone has a surface of 15,000 square metres, thus achieving a sense of gentle reconciliation between human activity and the wonderful nature of Doñana.
