Fuerteventura forms part of a geological landmass of more than 200 Km in length that begins with the island of Alegranza, to the north of Lanzarote, and stretches down to almost 20 Km south of Punta de Jandía, thus creating the largest continental platform in the Canary Islands.

| What to see?
|
- Every year in the region of Betancuria, a festival is held in honour of the Virgen de la Peña, patron saint of the island, the most representative part of which is the pilgrimage undertaken by people from every corner of the island.
- Among the most important festivals in the region of Puerto del Rosario is the festival in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, held around the 7th of October.
- Tuineje enjoys its festivals in honour of San Miguel Arcángel around the 29th of September and the 13th of October.

- Throughout the island of Fuerteventura, visitors can admire several stunning and unique natural areas, such as the many kilometres of sand dunes in Dunas de Corralejo, the highly-typical geomorphological characteristics of the Tindaya mountain or the impressive landscapes that include the Cofete Arch in Jandía.
